Junior Boys Rollover/Refund Policy

Dear members

On behalf of the committee, we hope you and your families are safe and healthy.

As mentioned last week, the club has been in lengthy discussions with Football Victoria and Hume City Council. Therefore we have come to the conclusion that it is impossible for our club to participate in this year’s season without having any guarantees that the season will commence or be completed. It is with great regret that we have decided to withdraw our entire club from any official fixture for all age groups (under 7’s through to seniors). This decision was not made lightly, when taking into consideration the safety of our members, parents and supporters for the sake of a handful of games that are not guaranteed to commence.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and express our gratitude in your understanding. Our committee has worked tirelessly since October last year to prepare for the 2020 season and continued meeting weekly since the virus outbreak and have done an enormous amount of work to get our players back on the pitch.

It is with great satisfaction that we can say that Greenvale United was the first community sporting club in the Hume City area to receive the authority from council to allow us to recommence training and the last club to stop training just before lockdown. All this was made possible by the hard work of our committee, which has not gone unnoticed. I thank them for their efforts.

I would also like to thank our sponsors, McKinnon’s, Jolly Miller, SDP, Jason Real Estate, No Gap Insulation, Optimistic Futures, Jim’s Cleaning and Icon Sports for their continued support during these testing times. Without their efforts, running a club would not be possible. We look forward to continuing our partnership for the remainder of 2020 and season 2021.

The club has decided on the following rollover/refund policy. This policy has had both its members and the clubs longevity in mind. We are also following the Victorian Consumer Affairs COVID-19 consumer guidelines for this policy.

We believe our members understand that the club has incurred a variety of expenses as we have had our senior teams training since November 2019 and the rest of the club has been training since February (less the lockdown periods). During this period the club has incurred the following costs to operate;

  • Ground facility and maintenance expenses
  • Training equipment purchased
  • Football Victoria player registration and team registration fees
  • COVID-19 ready costs which include signage, sanitisers, daily disinfection of the premises
  • Uniforms for the 2020 season

With all this being said the club is offering all its members the choice to withdraw its membership from the club and receive a refund (minus the 2020 expenses) or choose to rollover its 2020 membership to season 2021 (minus the 2020 expenses).

The club has calculated that the cost incurred for the 2020 is $400. Therefore if you choose to receive a refund you will be refunded $300 into your nominated account 5 business days of your request. Members who have not picked up their uniforms will be able to do so once we are allowed to return back to the club (hopefully by August).

Example:

If you have paid your registration in FULL and wish to receive a refund, you will receive $300 and you keep your 2020 kit.

However if you choose to rollover your funds to season 2021 then the club will grant you an additional $100 as a sign of appreciation, to rollover. In other words your cost for season 2020 will be $300 and $400 will be credited to your 2021 membership. That is a discount of 57% for season 2021.

Members who have not picked up their uniforms can do so once we return back to club. These members will also be granted permission to participate in the training, gala days and tournaments that the club organises in 2020 if safe to do so.

Please keep in mind that “rollover members” will also be allowed to use their 2020 kits in 2021. Individual purchase of tops, shorts, socks etc. can be purchased (if needed) when registering for season 2021

Example:

Membership needs to be paid in FULL by August 31st (if not already done so). $400 will be credited to your 2021 membership. You can use your 2020 kit in 2021 and only purchase items that you choose to purchase. Therefore with your 2021 membership could only cost you $300 rather than $700.
